Screens, videos, artworks and demos are constantly being included by contributors to keep the massive database updated with new and exciting additions.

A key feature of Vigster is GameAnswers, which has three sections: Ask, Answer and Discover. GameAnswers participants can pose questions, receive answers and discover existing answers on any topic related to gaming and video games. They can also share their personal experiences, knowledge and opinions with other members of the Vigster community. Recently, the Web site launched a Vigster Rewards Program that uses a point system to reward active GameAnswers users who provide the best answers. Rewards for the exciting program include video games, consoles, accessories and Point Cards.

Another new key feature is Vigster Points, which rewards overall participation every time someone uses, adds and contributes content to the Vigster community. For example, members can receive 30 points for submitting a quiz on a video game, 10 points for writing reviews for games, 10 points for answering a question on GameAnswers and 10 points for adding a new game. Points are also awarded for creating forum topics as well as adding comments, screenshots and video links to games. Once users have accumulated 5,000 to 50,000 points, they can redeem them starting next year for prizes in the appropriate point category. “Vigster Points provides a nice and easy way for users to earn while they play and network with friends and fellow gamers on Vigster,” Bolutiwi said. “Think of it as a virtual currency.”

All Eyes in the Game Industry on TK Online as it makes its debut in the Chinese E-Sports Competition

An RTS Game made in Korea is earning raves after making its debut in an international E-Sports Competition held in China. In fact, all the attention at home and abroad is on the game. No doubt, the talk of the town is TK (Turbulent Kingdom Online) developed by Korean Game Developer Mobicle (CEO: Jeong Hee-Cheol).

Held for one week beginning October 26 in Hangzhou, China, “World e-SPORTS MASTERS” was a contest where top pro-gamers from every country in the world gathered to compete in Warcraft 3 and Counter-Strike.

The participating teams and players for Counter-Strike were FNATIC (Sweden), MTW (Denmark), and MOUSESPORTS (Germany), and for Warcraft 3, MANUEL SCHENKHUIZEN (Team GRUBBY: Netherlands), LI XIAOFENG (Team SKY: China), and Jang Jae-Ho (Team Moon: Korea).

The demonstration game for TK Online –which was held with the direct participation of players for two days when the semi-finals for this contest took place – drew favorable response from the audience.

In the first round, there was a 1-on-1 match between Jang Jae-Ho (Team MOON) and Park Jun (Team LYN) who represented Korea in Warcraft 3. Jang Jae-Ho won the first round after showing excellent ability in using items in combinations. The second round was a 2-on-2 team match between WANG XUWEN’s China team – who won the Warcraft 3 tournament – and Jang Jae-Ho’s team.

The atmosphere of the competition, which was broadcast live through China’s largest portal Sina.com and US E-sports media GotFrag.com, was frantic, with the audience giving admiring gasps every time a pro gamer demonstrated brilliant skill.

TK Online in Hangzhou was followed by active discussions with buyers from every country in the world at the GSTAR 2008 held in Korea. After a comparatively in-depth discussion with major Chinese publishers and Vietnamese, US, German, and Japanese game companies, an actual agreement was signed with a Japanese company.

“The additional discussions with the publishers coming from various countries and whom we’ve met during the business talks progressed rapidly. Banking on such attention, we are planning to introduce TK Online to publishers at home and abroad,” a spokesperson for Mobicle said. Thus, we can look forward to a flurry of events for TK Online at home and abroad.

Real Music, Real Play, Real Online Band Game, It’s “Funny Game”

Real music game has been exhibited through G star 2008 for users who disappointed by dance game which is disguised by rhythm game. We are expecting Funny Band which put slogan “Real Music, Real Play, Real Online Band Game” will be loved by dance game to lots of users who just fall in to rhythm game.

Let’s figure out the characteristic of Funny Band which is released by G Star experience session.

First of all, Funny Band is using special sound system. You can use popular songs, pop, rock, and lots of rhythm music. All of those music are separated by position of guitar, drum, keyboard, and vocal as Funny band sound source so, user can freely adjust the volume of sound. Professional musician is playing each instrument and vocal sound therefore users can listen as real and there is benefit in reserve rights so, it will receive lots of interest from publishers who are preparing rhythm game line up. Moreover, we are expecting it will be loved for participating music game. Because after now, we can share compose and editing sound which armature musician is going to do and we are going to link with UCC.

Second Characteristic is we can watch Funny Band as the first real on-line music band game.

In the past, there were several cases some of games have received favor from some users by copying music band game. However, there was no game like performing on on-line such as funny band . Especially, vocal mode, the sound is made by 3D-OZ Corp.’s original voice streaming and technology of tone recognition so everyone can have fun with high quality at karaoke.

Third, there is keynote system which has maximized the rhythm.

Key point of rhythm game is touching sense during paying the game. Funny Band is music simulation game which provides keynote system from each instrument and music book. Specially, drum and guitar, users can have illusion for playing because instruments’ quality is so fantastic. Furthermore, there is a level easy, normal and hard. So when you play easy mode, users who play rhythm game for their first time can easily adjust. Also, the multi controller for conquer Europe and northern America is going to have a huge boom to users who know the touching sense in rhythm music.

Finally, there is community system that presents the factor of band.

There are lots of cases that causal games are putting 3D community space in game reason for reinforce the community factor but there is not sufficient connection so they’re receiving not much attention from users. However, in case of Funny band system, it can make band in 3D world space and activate more in azit by granting band space. Also it is almost same as off-line band because of community system such as competing with other band so it can grow up so it will receive lots of affection from users.

Person from 3D-OZ Corp. said “we are going to listen various voices from users through G star experience session so the game is going to be innovated more high quality music game. Also, it is going to be a real music game that users can be participated and making together.

Moreover, Funny Band is having lots of interest from middle area users and still connecting with our dominant publisher so, if it’s early then we’re expecting that we can play OBT service in beginning of next year.

Nickelodeon Ignites Environmental Change for Kids With Launch of Green-Themed Online Game ‘The Big Green Help Global Challenge’

New Multiplayer Global Game is Nick’s First Step in Activating Kids to Address Environmental Issues

NEW YORK, Dec. 11 /PRNewswire/ –Nickelodeon is helping kids get their game on in the name of the environment, beginning Dec. 14 with the launch of “The Big Green Help Global Challenge” (www.nick.com/biggreenhelp) — the first multiplayer kids’ online game with a goal of igniting real-world action for environmental change. Kids will be asked to virtually pledge volunteer hours in the “Global Challenge” that they can translate into actionable steps in their homes, communities and schools. The game is this year’s cornerstone of Nickelodeon’s on-going global pro-social initiative, The Big Green Help, which aims to make energy-saving and earth-friendly activities a part of kids’ everyday lives.

“With about three quarters of the U.S. kid population actively gaming online, we think our ‘Global Challenge’ game is a great way to connect them to the pro-social issues they care about, like the environment,” said Marva Smalls, Executive Vice President of Public Affairs, Nickelodeon Kids and Family Group. “Our legacy of empowering kids has shown that they can lead the way in addressing positive change, and we hope this game can be the beginning of a kid-led environmental movement.”

In the downloadable “Global Challenge” game, kids have to “green” the last three pollution-free cities on the planet. To play, kids can choose from four Nicktoon characters — SpongeBob SquarePants; Back at the Barnyard’s Otis; The Fairly OddParent’sTimmy Turner; and Avatar’s Aang — and partner with up to three other players in a face-off against CO2-spewing monsters. As kids defeat monsters like the Carbon Creeper, Waste Whirlwind or Guzzlor and move through nine game levels, they will get tips about how to lower their carbon footprint. At the end of the game, kids will be directed to www.nick.com/biggreenhelp where an online meter will measure their individual commitments and the impact of their collective pledges.

The multiplayer online green game will be available in more than 15 Nickelodeon markets, including: UK; Brazil; Germany; Italy; Denmark; Sweden; Portugal; Spain; Australia; New Zealand; Philippines; Indonesia; Mexico; and Argentina, with additional countries to follow. Nickelodeon Kids and Family digital sites — including: AddictingGames; Neopets; Shockwave; and The-N.com — as well as several Big Green Help campaign partners, will also introduce new green-themed mini games in support of the “Global Challenge.”

Next in January 2009, Nickelodeon in the U.S. will provide kids with local resources and events to translate their virtually volunteered hours into real-world action — in partnership with Boys & Girls Clubs of America; Girl Scouts USA; The LeBron James Family Foundation; National Wildlife Federation; Natural Resources Defense Council; National 4-H Council; and NFL. This same kind of activism will be encouraged in local markets globally. Kids can track their pledges and fulfillment through a downloadable widget pledge tracker. Nick’s campaign partners have lent their expertise to help develop various components of the “Global Challenge” including: tips; the pledge tracker; and the equation to measure the implications of kids’ pledges.

The Big Green Help is a multiplatform campaign that provides information and tools to help explain climate change to kids, and taps into Nickelodeon’s history of addressing important issues. Its Plan It for the Planet special in 1993 discussed the environment and how kids can affect positive change; The Big Help created a generation of 40 million kid volunteers; and its Let’s Just Play encouraged millions of kids to adopt healthier lifestyles. For more information on The Big Green Help, visit www.thebiggreenhelppress.com.

Nickelodeon, now in its 29th year, is the number-one entertainment brand for kids. It has built a diverse, global business by putting kids first in everything it does. The company includes television programming and production in the United States and around the world, plus consumer products, online, recreation, books, magazines and feature films. Nickelodeon’s U.S. television network is seen in more than 96 million households and has been the number-one-rated basic cable network for 14 consecutive years. Nickelodeon and all related titles, characters and logos are trademarks of Viacom Inc. (NYSE: VIA, VIA.B).
